Flash or trash: Girls Gone Wild

Madonna is already moving on to her next single, the Benny and Alle Benassi-produced Girls Gone Wild. Another intelligent lyric? No. Innovative arrangement? No. Catchy? Hell yes.

Decide for yourself..

The lyrics is a sly nod to Cyndi Lauder, is it not? A video is being shot this week with the brilliant photographers Mert and Marcus, who did the new album photos.

How can one be nice without saying something like "not really groundbreaking", "average", "typical", "easy", etc. It IS catchy, but Madonna has usually been either at or near the front of trends for years (until Hard Candy came along), and this seems like she isn't really bringing anything new to the table. Not a flop, but if she wanted electronica, certainly there could have been more interesting choices, because even for a dancefloor, this trance beat feels too safe. Maybe it'll sound different in my car.

Still, I hope it's a hit for her, and I'm sure it'll be fun on stage. Anything to keep her from going back to Timba.

It's amazing when Madonna is influenced by the up-and-coming so-hip-it-hurts latest thing... like... The Saturdays, Jennifer Lopez and Cher Lloyd!

"all fired up, like a smoking gun"

"hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm like hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah"

"on the floor til the daylight comes"

"hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm like hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah"

"girls they just wanna have some fun"

The last two albums have been "I just want to dance and I don't care" this era is "I just want to dance and I don't care – and check your brain in at the door, bitches!"

Not really impressed with the new stuff I'm hearing...Nevertheless bought tickets to see her on her second Amsterdam date on july 8, because her lifetime carreer makes for a good show!
