This is talent. Emeli Sandé performing her recent single, Heaven, on Jools Holland. [note: you may have to sit through a commercial before she pops up]
Emeli's debut album, Our Version Of Events, is due out in January. She just released the dreamy cover image yesterday.

This is fantastic, although I have to admit the first time I saw it, I thought there was some weird duet going on, as that Bon Iver video launched itself without provocation. What's with these new embedded videos just launching when you don't want them to? Am I just a computer dummy? Sort of problematic.
Sande is excellent though. Do you think the US would respond to her the same way they have with Adele or even Flo? I'm not sure the public would find her "rootsy" enough. Still, that hair! The higher the hair, the closer to god...
Stunning. I need more of this in my life. But to Countpopula's point, I don't think she stands much of a chance in the US unless her people find a way to get her positioned in a can't miss moment (ie. Adele on Saturday Night Live the same night Sarah Palin was).
Same problem I keep getting with your site Stephen! It automatically loads that other song! WHAT UP?
Try it again. I don't control that, kidz.
This wouldn't load last night. So glad I gave it another go. Amazing performance and the album cover is gorgeous.
Very much worth a second, third and fourth listen. I love that she uses her voice like an instrument and not like a weapon. Singers are sometimes prone to wielding their vocal equipment like a cudgel, and she uses her like a precision tool. Love it!
