I grew up to the beat of electronic drums
Very nice. Love the stripped down sound -- it allows her voice to stand on its own. Thanks for sharing!
As much as I love Sade, and I think this song is just fine, your classic picture brought back the sound in my head of classic Sade like "Is It a Crime" and "Smooth Operator". Where's the sax? It would be nice to get a little more of the jazz back, rather than the stripped-down near-folk approach they often seem to take now.I can't help but think that some people will think of this as a cash grab. We already have a Best of Sade, and when you wait ten years from album to album, and come just one year later offering only three new songs couched in a double CD of previoulsy released material. Why not have included them on the album (it was only 45 minutes long), or just wait a little longer and release a new album (it's been over a year--at that rate it would only take another two to get a full one together). This just makes me feel Sade now has another excuse to go hibernate for another ten years.
Maybe she recorded these songs in the past year, after she finished Soldier of Love? I could do without Jay Z and Sade together though...
