The Courteeners*, one of Morrissey's favorite groups, have taken a big leap with the first single from their upcoming album Falcon. Everything works here: the lyrics admonishing a woman burning the candle at both ends, the pop melody, the disco/rock hybrid arrangement, and a video that is both beautiful and creepy. And then there's the clever title/chorus and the best bit...

I load it, I shoot it like a Tommy gun
For you will carry on until the day you are done

The album, out on February 22nd in the UK, was produced by Ed Buller of Suede, Pulp and White Lies fame.

*Important detail: This band is called The CourTEENers, not the CourTENeers
