Ellie Plus Eight

Ellie Goulding's new video for Under The Sheets. Pleasingly free of big label interference regarding her "persona" which seems not to need any massaging or - cough - "direction," as we've seen with other good artists this year. My favorite part? The drumming bits in the final minute. The only thing missing? A group bicycle routine at the end.

The song itself is, a few weeks in, just as buoyant and kicky as when I first played it 20 times in a row. A perfect launch.

Hear, hear. Lovely song. Lovely artist and lovely video. All in all, lovely. Just what's needed on an autumnal Friday morning. Have a good weekend.

You too Adem!

BTW, for any non-US folks wondering about the title of this post, it is a reference to an American TV show that has swept the media here.

I love the song, and the drumming is great. But what is her persona? I'm not getting much other than I imagine she quite likes tea and as a child went barn dancing.

The last time I listened to a song non-stop like that was back in Umbrella-times... AMAZING.

Best,
