Which insanely talented artist/group's new single do I think is really kind of... makeshift? It may work as an album track, but not so much as a single. Which same artist/group's video for said song is totally embarrassing?
All is not lost. Risk-taking has its... risks. haw haw.
Has to be U2. There are many songs on that album that are better, and that video is hideous.
Did you know "Get on Your Boots" is some kind of East African reference to putting on condoms? Bono said that on TV recently. Maybe he should have just sung that in the song, because it sounds stupid without a context--especially "sexy" boots.
How can you not love Vulture? It's all kinds of amazing. The most instantly likeable Patrick song since Bloodbeat. The video is questionable I'll admit (in the sense it leaves me amused, which was probably not the intended result) but the song is just brilliant. That's the kind of thing I thought he would never do again, after he had made his "mature" and "commercially sensible" album.
Yeah, That P. Wolf video is kind of embarassingly amateurish. Like an 18 year old queen's video he created in the basement when he was trying to copy 'Erotica' and coming off like a cheap Marilyn Manson meets Fischerspooner knockoff.
OK, just saw the Wolf video...ummmmmm. Don't mind the song actually, but the video is rather horrifying. He's such a talented guy, and writes some really great songs, but this is like trying to prove how fearless you are and coming out a bit needy and unlikeable. I think Matt nailed the Fischerspooner connection, which is unfortunate, as they come from that NY art background where you would expect that from them. This image just doesn't do Patrick any favors. I wonder what the rest of the album will be like...
U2?

i'm going with pet shop boys?!
Patrick Wolf. :(
Yeah, I've got the same guess as Ross, mainly since you haven't mentioned it here yet that I remember.

Adam Rickitt?
I'm hoping it's Patrick Wolf as well, because that's exactly how I feel about "Vulture." And its clip.
I am afraid it is Patrique! I expect the CD to be better, although my fave song from the sampler mix is not on the first release.
U2 is just bla bla bla.

I've not even seen the video yet!
But the song is a grower, not a shower.
Patty is doing his best SOFT CELL impression. I don't like the new song or video but i like him as the new Marc Almond.
