The Middle Eight

I grew up to the beat of electronic drums

What becomes a legend most?

I am not the first person to note that Donna Summer's new single, Stamp Your Feet, is phenomenal. It was produced by Greg Kurstin and it sounds like he wisely saved his best for the original disco superstar. Totally catchy and uplifting. Hear a sample below... this could be one of the songs of summer 2008.

Sounds FANTASTIC from the preview. The cover/promotional image for "I'm A Fire" is stunning, too.

I like that a lot more than the last few things I've heard of hers. I'm a big fan of her stuff from the 70s, especially the Moroder stuff that was a bit on the cutting edge. The stuff from the 90s, I feel, was a bit 'generic gay dance music' for me. I want some of that edge back.

Yes! She is a disco POP artists, so faceless dance music is beneath her I think. And some of those tracks were sort of that way - could have been any diva.
