It was 20 years ago tonight

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

That's me in my teenybopper bedroom on December 31, 1986 (stop doing math!) with the lovely Joanna, who is still one of my best friends. Look around at your friends, young'uns, because one day, if you're lucky, you'll be aging sexpots like Joanna and me.

Man, you drug "The Captain Of Her Heart" out of my subconscious! I hadn't thought of that song in years. Of course, it's in my iTunes, so I had to cue it up and listen to it. Looking forward to hearing the Duran Duran track.

Happy New Year!

Awww... I got pictures with all my good, old friends while I was back home in PA last week. I was thinking of scanning old ones and putting them side by side. Time does have its way, no?

I had a thing for Charlie Chaplin in 1986 and 1987. My parents got their first VCR in '86, and that Christmas, I got The Gold Rush on video. I had a big poster of CC in my bedroom all through Junior High.

You and Joanna are both too cute.

I am slightly distracted by the picture of Woody Allen on your wall though the "ew" factor wouldn't have been the same back then. Photo above Joanna's head is cool.

The pic is funny because my face now has a face, if you know what I mean.

Tat's a Marc Ribot photo above Joanna and the poster you can't quite see is a True Stories film poster.

The Victorian house above my head is an xolondon original! The desk I STILL have b/c it is HUGE.

Woody was in his 2nd imperial phase with Hannah And Her Sisters. As for Charlie, D'luv, I was into him for years. Read bios and had a lifesize 6 ft poster of him on my closet door.

BTW there are indeed Madonna posters etc in the room- a whole door of her on the back of the door to the room. I love looking at these details. It's one reason you should always take pics in your living spaces and NOT clean up too much. 20 years later it is fun to look at the details.

I'm so uncultured! Oops. I thought that broad in the orange was Charlie Chaplin. Well, her moustache is very becoming, anyway...
