Bertine's surprises

Bertine Zetlitz releases her new CD My Italian Greyhound on Monday in Norway. It'll be hard to get for awhile. The record was produced by Fred Ball in London - a repeat of the m.o. from her last CD. But this album is nothing like Rollerskating. Bertine tries new sounds and styles, from Fleetwood Mac-meets-Enya midtempo rock on "Get What You Deserve" (that title is also a line "500") to smooth pop on "This Moment." Evidence below, with more comments on the record very soon.

she looks so surprised on that pic. Kinda like a cross between a deer caught in the headlights and a deer caught...well doing something it shouldn#t. Need less to say you have turned me on. To bertine :)

She's cute. Yeah, I like her, too. I first downloaded some tune by her off Jessica's Into The Groove site last year. (I think called "Aah Aah" or something)... I definitely like her newer stuff.

Paul, I have that look all the time. Its called my "Vibrator-look". She's probably just come back from Ann Summers.

That doesnt explain the dog though.

But then again she is Norwegan...

I'm so glad Ella's back. It's been lonely making sexually suggestive comments on people's blogs this past month without her.

wow, ella - we have such different sex toys faces ;)

I am always a bit disconcerted when you can see the whites of people's eyes all the way around. It's so vv Jake Shears.

Jake's constant look of surprise is frightening. And that new orange hair do is not doing him any favours either.

As for Bertine, just listening to this new album at work today - loving it xo, I think I almost prefer it to her last album actually.

Shouldn't you be asleep? It is very late in the UK!

I DO agree re the Bertine album being better than Rollerskating. That was a very staccato, funky, young record and this one is a bit more mature.

Ah, I'm in Australia though, so it would have been the middle of the day (? maybe) when I posted.

The dot co dot uk is misleading, yes, but it was a present from a friend so I couldn't exactly refund it...

With Bertine's newest album, I was commenting to a friend last night that I felt I should be listening to it on vinyl, it has that classic old sound. Superb, I'm falling in love with it more with each listen.

Hi Mr. Right! How did I miss that you are in Australia?! Good morning to you (or whatever - how many hours diff from East Coast US?)

I think Bertine is a real grower. Today I like the one that's called "Never.." something.

Indeed you were right, morning, it's 11:54 in the morning, and I really should be working but am having too much fun listening to Kate Ryan and wandering the net.

"Never Let You Go" is ace, isn't it? I'm quite loving "Draggin' Me Down" as well. "Midnight" manages to get better with every listen now too, so many different sounds in it.

How is it that you have the album already. :(

What is the likelihood of more tracks being posted on your blog/being sent to me XO? I'm dying to hear the rest of "Greyhound"!

I'm from Australia too - looks like you have a large fan base down under!!
