Dolly Parton: Jolene

You think you know, but you don't know. You have an idea of Dolly that is based on tits, hair and nails. Moistworks has one of the finest folk-pop songs ever written. Shawn Colvin, among many, built a whole career on the blueprint of this 1974 Dolly track. If you don't know it, now is your chance...

this is a great song - i don't religiously follow her career or anything but i love this track, 9 to 5 and her version of those were the days. bliss. plus what a skanky whore that Jolene was...

TV, this is one of the things I love most about you...you never judge a book by its cover, i.e. you *listen* then decide. The fact that you have time for DM and Dolly Parton, Frou Frou and Dixie Chicks, the list goes on.... Renaissance Man after my heart. :)
