1985: I feel I've been had and I'm boiling mad

Alison Moyet "Invisible"

MP3 One of my favorite songs from the 80's from her perfect pop album Alf. Do all you trolls own this? If not, get it now! Note that Alison is still around and still great. Watch a cute bit on Graham Norton and a recent TV appearance singing an oldie...

Thanks so much for this. I met Alison in 1995, and she was one of the nicest, most gracious, and equally humorous celebrities I had encountered (I think that comes across in the Graham Norton appearance). It was quite disarming to see a star musician actually inviting people to come in close for a chat and pictures, but she treated it all with kindness and the excitement that people were interested in her and her music. Invisible is an amazing song with an even more amazing vocalist, and is just one of many songs she sang the shit out of. She still writes and performs at her own (slower) pace, but these were golden days for sure. Let us not forget...

I still have the 7" single of this song. One of my favorites from Alf. That and All Cried Out and Love Ressurection. She does plays now, I think something with Dawn French.

She was indeed doing a play with Dawn (who is a favorite human of mine).

Yes count, I really liked a lot of the songs on Alison's "Hometime" CD. She still has IT, though I skipped the covers record.

word verfication is shidt! (Silent D?)

My favorite Alison songs are "Satellite" and "Whispering Your Name" from the criminally overlooked "Essex" record. That album was part of the soundtrack of the summer before my senior year in college. Good times.

Honorable mention goes to "Wishing You Were Here" from "Hoodoo".

There is a video for Whispering with her all dolled up platinum blond. I think! Look on youtube...

Is this the one written by Lamont Dozier of Motwown fame? Pete Waterman claims he's the one that put the two of them together to record this track.

Alison has one of my favorite voices and she's amazing. The Graham Norton bit was fantastic!

Raindancing is one of my favorite CDs of all time! But Alf is a close runner up, and better, actually...I just have a thing for whatever it is that she brings to Raindancing.
