Ultravox "Reap The Wild Wind"

MP3 - Another of my favorite records of the 80's. This was the song I thought of when I first heard "Your Eyes Open" by Keane. Both songs are, in a word, soaring. Strangely, this seems to be a slight remix that adds something funky I don't like. Regardless, love the epic video they did for this...it reminds me a bit of Flambards, for those who are hardcore on their PBS lore.

OMG, I almost put this on my request list! Fantastic song. Some other bands I thought of--Naked Eyes, Act, Eurogliders, Japan, Big Country, EARLY Tears for Fears, EARLY Everything but the Girl, EARLY Sade, Dream Academy, the Associates, Altered Images, Aztec Camera, Fun Boy Three, Virignia Astley. What a great time for music. Thanks for the great reference points..I'm pleasantly surprised!

I agree about it being a great time for music.

I'm so used to hearing the album version of this. Never heard this mix before. I think one of my favorite songs from U-Vox is "Visions in Blue."

I much prefer the album version (or single or whatever) that is attached as an MP3 above. I will look for "Visions In Blue" and keep in mind the requests. The next one may be cheesier: something by 2 acting brothers who don't sing.

baby, we are SO on the same page this summer -- I have been playing "Fade to Grey" over and over and over.

Thank you thank you thank you! Great song, but the remix is a bit naff compared to the original--wonder why they changed it? Oh, and I think "Visions in Blue" was from Quartet, not U-Vox. AMAZING song (closest thing to "Vienna" they would do again).
